2014 anniversary, Gibson Les Paul LPJ
Maple neck!
No binding or frills. Just a plain Jane LP in satin. These 61 reverse zebra pups are gonna go as soon as payday gets here.... They're ok but not very good for the BrOOtZ!

Trying out top wrapping the strings, supposed to be silky. We shall see.

Got it in today, lem-oiled the board, installed Straploks, new beefy slinky's, tuned C# std now.

Congrats! I like how the sunburst follows the lines of the body as opposed to the tear-drop shape.

I hope you have strap locks, because it looks like a great guitar to toss over your shoulder before shredding a solo.

I put an SH6 in my other new LP, it is my favorite pup for these, but I think I'm going with a reverse zebra Alt8 for this one.

I'd go black winter, but I don't think they come reverse zebra.

yes Straploks go on every guitar I own before they even get plugged in..

Nice. You can probably get reverse zebra BW through a dealer as a Seymour Duncan Shop Floor Custom Option. If you’re patient

I like that they kept the burst fairly thin. Count me in too on the non-bound look being better camp.

I would look at the BurstBucker pros as well. I was very impressed with them recently.

They're called 61 zebras.
So far they seem bright and not very much output.
This Paul may sound a bit different than my tribute though because of the maple neck. Once I get a hot pup in it I'll have a more fair comparison.

First of all - sweet rides! Like 'kinda' cherry burst' and 'kinda tobacco'. but different.

Second - Maple neck Les Pauls are the $#!t !!!!!!! especially in those low tunings.

Finally - excellent tone and sound!

Oh I'm still all about my pointies! I think my explorers and Vs are still my babies, but I'm really liking these Paul's. Just a different tone altogether.

Now I'm debating a set of white invaders with the black hex heads.... Might look awesome, might look stupid. Anyone quick with Photoshop? Mock it up... Maybe if I get those, I'll add some cheesy white skull speed knobs or something

Now I'm thinking about a regular black invader set.

Took the guitar to rehearsal last night and it sounded rather good in the mix even with stock pups.
No matter, I'm going to swap them out anyhow.
need more bite and output to properly melt faces.
