New Guitar Day!

So I've decided that I have the willpower of a 5 year old......

I'm down in PHX at the VA hospital with my dad, (who is doing better) you know how it is at the hospital , waiting waiting and more waiting on everything.... I decided to run to a guitar shop to kill some time and get some fresh air....... Bad idea.... So bad!

Bizarre Guitar is just a few block over from here. And they always have a few sweethearts in there to love on!

I walked in and spotted her right away, top row, dead center. She was like a single girl staring at me from across the bar.... So beautiful.... So lonely..... Gawwwwd I wanted to touch her.... To make her sing!
To make her squeal! ...even. I had them reach her down for me.... And I plugged in.

She was barely used, zero fret wear, couple dings in the normal places..... The owner could see how awesome we looked together. He came over and made me a deal to take her home....

I don't Need another beauty!
She came with a case.
I didn't even think I wanted another beauty!
I was just talking in Aces thread about how content I am with all my gear!.... Well, you can just forget whatever nonsense I said.....

Oh for the love of all that is sweet in this world why did I go there???

My credit card took a big hit! The most I've ever spent on a guitar before.... By over $500 set by the amazing Gibson Explorer in natural that I bought a couple years ago....

I will take proper pictures of my new beauty whenever I get home from the hospital tonight and y'all will understand.

For now all you can do is guess what could she be......

Ok I made it home.

2019 Gibson V in Natural. . . . Bu bu bu Buttah!

Not sure if I like the truss rod cover I just threw on there or not.... Probably not
I'll change the knobs to speed knobs when my Amazon order shows up in 2 days.

I gave it a quick lem-oil and tightened all the nuts, installed beefy slinkys. Adjusted the bridge and pickup real quick.
I didn't have to file the nut at all!

We'll see how long the BB3 stays in, it sounds great right now, but in my heart I can feel the SD SH-6 and the Black Winter sitting on the shelf over there.....

I put the black truss rod cover back on already.

All mahogany, Rosewood board, slim taper neck, Burstbuckers 2 and 3. Graph tech nut. Grovers.

Dude, a Black Winter would be insanely good in that guitar. DO IT... :D

My only beef with these V's is how they completely surround the dang volume knob. It's packed in there!

I could pull the neck V and Tone knobs out and just relocate the Volume knob.... I may do it too..
Luckily I'm no Gary Moore, and just mess with my volume knob to start or stop a set mostly.

That is so cool. I love Bizarre Guitars they pack a lot of cool gear in a moderate sized shop.

I'll never forget it, when I was just starting high school, my best friend and I went to Bizarre Guitar with his dad. (Who was the Dr. In town) And I saw a white (James Hetfield) Explorer on the wall.... And the guy let me hold it! ... And I couldn't play but like 1 chord at the time..... That little trip into my first guitar store was more magical than Disneyland ever was.

I did not grab a guitar at Bizarre Guitars, but they had bootleg guitar shirts next to the counter. I still have my '80s logo Ibanez shirt from there. There was another place near Bizarre Guitars that was smaller and grungy, but they had some interesting vintage stuff. I can't remember the name.
