yeah, Schechter, Washburn and Ibanez use a similar design. i tried the Washburn and the Ibby, and Ibby won for overall feel. i opted for the all-mahogany (no maple top) SZ320 with an oil finish because it sounded warmer and kinda ballsier than the 520. it is one helluva guitar (not just for the money, but per se). perfect setup, finish and playability. love it.

I can't believe Ibanez discontinued the SZ for the SZR
.
The SZ looks amazing and it had a unique scale length of 25.1 inches which was part of it's charm.
Making the SZR's scale length a standard 24.75 inch killed some of the appeal for me..... and that's not even before I mention that the SZR doesn't look half as good as an SZ.
