Well, I haven't really posted on here much in the last couple of months, so I've been getting behind on my NGD posts. Haha! I've been making lots of changes to my guitar lineup lately. I've gone to just the basics of what I really need, play the most, and like the most (so I've been selling/trading/buying some guitars lately).
First I'll start off with the acoustics. I found that I was really becoming unsatisfied with my Taylor 214ce. I loved the way it played, but I really wasn't happy with the tone anymore, so I ended up selling it. Then I bought a Recording King RD-27cfe. I liked the tone much more than the Taylor, but I didn't like the cheap fishman classic 4 pickup or the chunky V neck, so I sold it too. Lol I went for a while without an acoustic, because I hadn't found any that I really liked that much. I also had one of my electrics up for sale at the time, and I ended up trading it for a Yamaha FGX730sc, plus cash. I am actually impressed with it for the price of the guitar. It had some setup issues, but once I got done working on it for a while, it actually plays and sounds really nice (the pickup is pretty good too). The Yamaha is a pretty decent guitar, so I just decided to keep it for a while and play it until I found a really nice guitar that I liked, and then I would just keep the Yamaha as a backup.
Well, this past weekend, a guitar popped up on my local CL, so I went to check it out... I was SUPER BLOWN AWAY by it, so I bought it!
The guitar is a Blueridge BR-180 (pretty much a very nice quality Martin D-45 copy). Its all solid wood, it plays and sounds amazing, and its one of the most beautiful guitars that I have ever owned. This one is a keeper! Now all I have to do is put a nice pickup in her and she'll be good to go. Here's some pics of her...

Also, there is another NGD that I had not posted yet. I went to a local shop a couple months ago and found a guitar that I fell in love with. Its an '07 Gibson LP Studio Faded in worn cherry and it already had a Seymour Duncan Antiquity in the bridge and Phat Cat in the neck. I playing it for quite some time I found that I just didn't like the way the pickups balanced with each other. I actually discovered that the Ant. was a neck model and the Phat Cat was a bridge model. I ended up putting the Ant. in the neck slot and I put a Pearly Gates in the bridge and now a couple months later it is my favorite combo that I have ever used and it has become my #1 player. I already had a worn brown studio faded, so I now I have two LPs that I use as my main electrics.
