Re: New Guy

Welcome Vince! I'm sure you will get the standard advice to be sure to look in the archives, but it can be hard to cover lots of questions at one time that way.

So that's the Humb/ Single/ Single version?

If so there are lots of SDs humbs that might help the bridge get in the ballpark- JB Custom and 59 can cover many of these styles and you have the option of sticking with 250 K pots to keep highs back or over to 500 if you want more hi end- If just metail I would ask others for a recomendation.

Middle, I happen to love rails for the sounds you suggest- Cool rails is a dual blade sc that quacks well and the duckbucker gets a good rep here as a 'quacker' as well but I dont use it and you may be a bit heavier than that-

On neck, Cool rails goes well into blues range, hot rails is really hot and Vintage is more stratlike-

The help?

What 47 fender do you have?

Re: New Guy

Welcome to great forum.

Don't want to ambush the intent of your post, but when you
have a few minutes could you give some details about your amp. Sounds very interesting!!

How did you find it?
Has it been modded at all?
Some of the basic specs?
Anything about it that you find especially interesting/unique?

Hope you don't mind the questions. Not often we hear of amps from 1947 with production numbers like #75 (..... at least that I'm aware of)

....wait 'til Lew sees this !!! (Vinceb...Lew is well known in the forum and has a lot of vintage gear)

Thanks

Good luck with the pickups

Dave

Re: New Guy

Thanks Vinceb.

Fender has (recently ? ) publised a book about all of their
amps through time. Expensive but you might try looking up your amp. in a bookstore if you see this book. I'm going to look on the internet. I assume that you have tried to do that.

Cheers

Dave
