New Hardware Day: Raw Vintage Saddles

I bought a set of Raw Vintage Saddles to replace my stock Gotoh steel block ones... Just for fun.

I might actually keep these. The guitar feels much less stiff, and it stays in tune better.

It's very late here, so I haven't plugged it in. Will report more tomorrow.

Cool, I like the Raw Vintage springs quite a bit, but that's more for bar action than tone.

I never tried the springs, since I use fairly heavy strings. I'm afraid I'll run out of space in the back.

Thats cool. A friend of mine has a lp standard (98?) with one of the sattles having more than one groove for one of the strings (apparently the previous owner over tuned it without it in the intended groove so it made a new one). Do you know of anywhere he can get a single saddle that would match his stock ones? I don't know much, just that it appears to be chrome and its a typical looking hardtail.

What gauge/tuning?

10-52 (not so heavy to quite a bit heavy) in E standard. I'm using 3 Gotoh springs in the back (they're a bit stiffer and have more pull than your average Fender springs) and I already have to go in nearly all the way in to deck the trem.

Nice! I too like the Raw Vintage Springs! Visually, I like the look of the noiseless springs, but I cant bring myself to change away from the RV. The Raw vintage springs have a nice smooth action and in many cases have allowed me to add a spring and still have about the same feel.
