I have to say I should have found this place earlier.

Anyways, I am pro guitarist and have toured the US and Internationally, currently working with a Houston area band.

my working guitar collection includes-

01 Gibson LP Classic
08 Gibson LP Standard
04 Gibson LP Classic Antique
97 Orville (by Gibson) LP Standard
10 Martin DX1 6 string
10 Martin DX1-12 12 string
Ovation Celebrity
69 Gibson B45-12 12 string

Most of the LP's are wearing SD pickups- JB/Jazz, 59's, Invaders...........

Re: New here, what's up?

You sure like your Gibsons, don't you?

Yep, that's my Dad's fault, he bought my first Les Paul (a black Deluxe) back in 1977 for my 5th birthday after that it's been all downhill.

I do have 3 Strats an SG, and a couple of custom built guitars but I only use the Les Pauls live and for the most part in the studio as well.

Look at the tattoo just visible below the sleeve on my right arm, I've gotten a lot more ink since this pic was taken (early 90's). :D

Re: New here, what's up?

I took some Epis out on the road last year, they performed better than I had expected.

So I have a couple of Epi Customs that I will still take out with me on the road.

2009 Epi rig- I still have the black and cherry customs.......... I sold the rest of them.

Re: New here, what's up?

Nice looking Les Paul's! Welcome to the Forum. Do you still have the '77 Deluxe? I have a '78 Deluxe in my collection.

Sprinter

Unfortunately the 77 suffered a major headstock/neck break around 2001 so it ended up getting used for parts and the rest went into the dumpster.
I had abused that guitar badly for 24 years so it was beyond repair.

Re: New here, what's up?

I've never seen a standard with binding in the headstock. What is it, mate?

Nice colection, BTW.

I'm wondering too. That's a beautiful finish. (that's what she said)
So really though, freakin sweet LPs

Re: New here, what's up?

We're scheduling Scottish for therapy, and hope to have him completely reformed later this year. When you see him selling his Strats, and scooping up some Gibsons, you'll know he's ready to rejoin society as a healthy and productive individual. Until then, don't get too close to him; he hasn't had all his shots.

Welcome to the forum, lp_junkie!

Lots of good info and good people all around here.

I've never seen a standard with binding in the headstock. What is it, mate?

Nice colection, BTW.

The blue one is a 2004 Classic Antique, Manhattan Midnight, it's not really a Standard, notice that it also has the crown inlay on the headstock instead of the Les Paul Model logo... and the binding and plastics are bright white not cream.

Check out my favorite guitar though, I've used it for almost 20 years now.........
