New homemade pedalboard day!

Well I decided to off my old pedalboard setup a while ago and I had nothing to mount my G System, and a few other pedals, to. So I figured after the high prices for a board the size I needed, that I would make my own. I still have a few things to do such as rivet the aluminum trim, and add rubber feet to it, but all in all it turned out pretty good. After all, I had a t square, hacksaw, and a skilsaw to finish the job. Next time I will get a table saw and an angle saw to be more precise on the angles(to me they turned out bad). Any how here are pics!

Re: New homemade pedalboard day!

I made one like that many years ago. I bought the aluminum moulding at a metal warehouse, and they cut it for me for a few bucks extra.

You may be able to find silver corner caps to cover the gaps. That's how they do it on roadcases, so the jagged edges are covered.

I love home-made stuff like this. It has so many benefits usually. If you put the time and effort into it, you end up with a one of a kind pedal board that is nothing like what anyone else has because you made it to fit your needs specifically. I've been on a DIY bender here lately because I don't want to pay some dude to do something that I should know how to do myself. It's very rewarding and stuff like that means a lot nowadays when life kicks you around for no good reason.

Yeah, I've made a few pedal boards in my life, and it's usually after seeing someone else that did it well. With the one like this, it's a style that Fulltone used a lot, except the handles are chrome, not amp head handles.

After seeing how Trailer Trash and Puma Boards make theirs, I'm inclined to copy some of their designs if I ever do this homemade thing again. It's nothing more than 9th grade wood shop level stuff. As a matter of fact, If I were back in high school wood shop, I'd make a pedal board my project for the year.

Cool stuff, more importantly it does exactly what you want and not what you don't and you saved a fortune! I made my own board a while back and went a bit OTT and now people keep asking me to design and build their boards! Lol.... no thanks. I still need to make a smaller board for a couple of new ones though.

Finished. Decided against mounting the talk box for the fact of my mic stand placement!

I usually do NOT like homemade stuff, but thats a really good looking unit. Most of that hombrew stuff is just what it seems to be;cheap funky junk. What did you do to angle it?

Re: New homemade pedalboard day!

As far as an angle, is a flat board. The g system is already angled, and I hate the feel of a wah on an angle. The next board I'll make will be angled, but that will have more thought put into in.
