Grabbed a piece of 1x6 that was left over from trimming and some leftover stain.

...Be really careful with that door.

I've always liked the idea of wall-hangers, but always worry about earthquake safety. Ehh. I guess in Texas they just need to be elevated above flooding.

I have a hinge stop on it. The wall hanger is just to keep them out of the way and look cool. My neighborhood isnt in a flood zone.

It's hard to see in the photos, but i used a $30 trim router from Harbor Freight.

That's a nice looking, compact setup.

I, too, prefer hanging my favorites on display over stuffing them into a floor rack or leaving them in cases :)

Nice job, but to me personally it seems like an odd place for the guitars, as well as the wall switches.

To give a general idea of the space I'm working with, the queen murphy bed will take up pretty much the entire wall to the right.

I had no idea how nice it was until a buddy of mine came over here, helped me clean up, and basically forced me to put my stuff up. I love it!! I apologize, Rumblebox, I'm not trying to steal your thunder, but I dig having them in the air as well.:)

I was thinking about doing it like that, but I didn't have enough space to catch a stud for each hanger without a wooden base
