New JB clips with my Silo Special

Just got a new iMac and was fooling around in Garageband last night. Made a few quick clips for your enjoyment. :D

I actually recorded these for the Ernie Ball board - there's a growing number of people over there who are curious about what EBMM's sound like without the OEM or other DiMarzios. I figured since this is the Duncan board, why NOT put 'em up. :D

The last clips of the Silo Special I had up was using a JB with an Alnico 8 and a 500k pot. I recently switched back to the stock JB because the other way way too powerful for me and fatigued the ears easily in rehearsal. These new clips are just with the stock JB.

SoundClick artist: Brenno's Demos - page with MP3 music downloads <- some chords and soloing

SoundClick artist: Brenno's Demos - page with MP3 music downloads <- a simple little chord pattern in Drop C#, in 7/4. I actually backed off the gain on this one slightly so it would be a little clearer for double-tracking.

Enjoy!

Wow man, you really make that JB / Silhouette sing!

I think the JB sounded really full and saturated in your clips --- very cool. I've never had a full JB (I have had a Little JB), but I love the sound you're getting out of it.

Sounds a lot like Tool to me --- the tightness, the saturation-without-buzziness --- you really have a gift for dialing in a badass tone!

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words.

I know it's only a POD 2.0, but it's useful and fun to play around with and do demos on. :) I'm planning on doing demos of my A2 Screamin Demon as well, I just need to dial in a neck pickup tone that sounds decent.

The first clip definitely showed some Eddie influence .... great phat sound and nice chops fer shur!

Thanks! :D I was playing kinda sloppy last night so it took a few tries to get a clean enough take that i was comfortable putting out for you guys to listen. :D Not perfectly executed but you guys get the idea of the sound of the pickup, and that's the focus of the clip.

Love those GIANT bends! How flat is the radius on those boards?

Thanks! Music Man wesbite says it's a 10" radius.

I actually prefer something more like a 12" or a 14" but having medium jumbo stainless steel frets does help with the bending a good bit.

I love it when I can bend up on the board in the upper register and get the note JUST starting to fret out and get scratchy like around 0:35 of the clip. That's always been a very "rock" sound and it's not totally clean or perfect, which is why I like it.
