New Kiesel SC option of a 24.75 scale 22 fret neck with Duncan Antiquities P 90's

This one could be a real Les Paul killer! Ran this one up on the builder last night and may just build it. This one has the M bridge Ebony board and is pretty basic. Could be ordered with a full tunamatic set up rosewood and the 2 volume and tone controls more like a real Les Paul and you also can get all the other Kiesel options like a Quilt or Flame top chambered body trem ect. The build quality on the new Kiesels is absolutely insane and far exceeds any thing from Gibson I have ever seen over the last 20 years.
This is the second more traditional model that they have released over the last 2 NAMM shows that really surprised me. The other was the modern real Tele Retro Solo and both are using Duncan Antiquities pickups.

One of the reasons I play my Les Paul the most is because of its four controls.

Can easily be ordered that way it's just a $30 option. I prefer a single volume and tone because of how i will ride the volume control is all. Also going with standard humbuckers would drop $300 off the price. The 24.75 scale is whats new this year as well as the P 90 option. The default Beryllium A2 set in these is darned good BTW. Have 2 sets in guitars and prefer them to the Pearly Gates or Alnico II Duncan sets i have had greatly.
Those are one of the best sets Kiesel offers and sound nothing like the screechy awful metal pickups they seem to push so hard. Alnico II at around 9K and 7.5 neck really sweet solid slightly over wound PAF looking and sounding set.
Going with the buckers instead of the P 90's would drop that particular build under $2k even with the 2 volume and tone set up and a full tunomatic.
One of the reps wants a particular rare Carvin I have and may trade me a new build for it BTW.

I just spec'd out flamed maple with a burst finish, gloss all around and Berrylium pickups, ebony board, S/S jumbo frets, four controls and subdued inlays, and it was ~$2,600. Crazy that it's that much cheaper than an LP standard and you get all those options...

yep I know. My Kiesels are absolute perfection in fit finish materials and fretwork. Light years ahead of anything I have seen from Gibson and on par with Suhr and PRS so--.
Thinking hard on one of these maybe with with a Greg Howe bridge and Gambali neck or the P 90's. That pickup Howe/ Gambali combo KILLS but Kiesel doesn't even have them listed on the Pickup builder so only folk like me know they even exist to order them.
Here is the Kiesel demo for these with the P90's. Am a little confused they didn't have a better player do the demo then John Souki though. he's not a bad player but Kiesel just has the sickest endorsers of any company in the industry. The Kiesel forums aresome of the scariest places to hang around as a mortal guitar player because there are so many absolute monster players around!!

You do, but if it is important to you, it loses a bunch of that value as soon as you get it. I am all for getting a custom instrument, though, but I don't know if I'd get it from Kiesel.

Thinner-bodied LP type guitars always look weird to me. When I see that shape my eyes demand a huge thick body.

Kiesels have gotten crazy expensive in the used market. As long as you build a pretty basic guitar resale now is better percentage wise than a Gibson , Fender or PRS. Trick is to not get crazy with expensive woods ect. Wasn't that way just a few years ago with Carvin Kiesels but sure is now. Many built just 5 years ago if they are basic builds are bringing MORE than they sold for originally. I know this because I have been looking for a couple particular guitars. Now if you get crazy with exotic woods ,wild color finishes and other crazy expensive personalized stuff then you will absolutely get killed if you try and sell the guitar. Keep it simple and you will do fine on resale.
I bought 2 nice Kiesels a few years back both used but just a few months old and mint. I could make some decent money on both were I to sell them today.

The perceived value of a basic Gibson over time is better than plain Kiesels. I've had this discussion with guitar store owners. Any plain Carvins/Kiesels will sit there for months longer. But plain ones are pretty rare...most people go for really gaudy wood combinations for some reasons.

In a local shop in some areas maybe but not on like on sites like Reverb or Ebay. Kiesels are very hot in resale right now unfortunately. I know this because I have seriously looked at buying a couple specific guitars and have made offers. A 2 year old basic build Kiesel most of the time is bringing at least as much as it sold for new if not more right now. Wasn't that way just a few years ago but sure is now. Their price increases has a lot to do with this as does how they intentionally only build a few thousand guitars a year. Have been open and public about that on their sites.
