New Marshall Sig Randy Rhoads head.

Re: New Marshall Sig Randy Rhoads head.

Maybe we should shut up. The hype on these on forums will cause Marshall to go for the jugular, pricewise.

Did you put down much money Ayrton?

Just a $100 because no one knew what the price was. One of my best buds works there and if the price comes in out of my league, then I get my $100 back.

All the deposit does is get my name in the computer as having "dibs" on the first one.

I will post up what I find out on the pricing and availability.

Re: New Marshall Sig Randy Rhoads head.

I read somewhere on one of the various forums I visit is that the street price is going to be in the $2000 to $2500 range new. Also heard that it will be limited #'s but no one has said anything about how many will be made. From the 2 clips I've heard, it definitely sounds good and would be a good investment money wise.

The only downside to this is I now see other companies trying to jump on this. I for see Gibson dumping a Sig. RR LP custom in cream here for too long. Or the Randy Rhoads sig. MXR (dunlop) line of pedals.

yeah I see that coming too for next Christmas ? shown at summer NAMM 08 ? hmmm. More collectables to buy for investments lol. another part of Randy's tone was the Electro Harmonix Screaming Treble Tree. EH has gotta reissue that also.

Re: New Marshall Sig Randy Rhoads head.

They'll need permission from Randy's mom and the rest of the family first. I'm sure they've been approached many times already about putting his name on stuff and my gut tells me they've said no quite a bit.

I'm with Joe that some are looking in to this too deep when it comes to Randy's tone. This amp won't make you sound like Randy. It's just a tribute amp built like the ones he used himself, plain and simple. I highly doubt that anyone who plugs in to it would sound like Randy anyway (with or without the MXR pedals). Just appreciate it for what it is.

Everybody's a critic these days. ;)

Exactly, just a limited, hot rodded Marshall covered in white tolex. :headbang:

*EDIT* Well the news is, no news... Marshall USA does not know as of yet (or they are not saying) what the price will be or how many the US market is getting. I was told that new info might be available before the end of the month.

Re: New Marshall Sig Randy Rhoads head.

OK, I was told that the "only 100" rumor was true, but that the number has been pushed to "about 150" for the US market. It looks as though Guitar Center will only be getting 20 of them, so the chances of getting one at all are slim.

New details as they emerge....
