New metal recording. Ibanez/CC

Re: New metal recording. Ibanez/CC

Coool sound.A very nice riffage ,as you can hear from my clips ,i love this kind of scaling ,it's really "fluent" ,a very nice art for picking ,and a nice tight edge.Thanx for doing it.

Re: New metal recording. Ibanez/CC

Thanks very much.
I really like the way this custom custom records. It is tight and aggressive, without being too grainy and harsh.

This summer, I will try to write some original songs, rather than just slop some stuff together for recording practice.

Re: New metal recording. Ibanez/CC

I can hear the cc character
but the guitar is to clean(what tha ****, DIAL in MORE DISTORTION man)
ahahaha and the mids are a bit honk. try scoope them. and raise the guitar in the mix.
the bass is ****gin the guitar
nice riffage by the WAY!!!!

Re: New metal recording. Ibanez/CC

I've got the L6 Criminal (5150) Model with gain on 7, and a tubescreamer in front of it. It sounds clean? Are you sure?

If I put the gain on 10, I will have to use the noise gate, which flattens the sound....No dynamics. so.....

I'll use the Bogner Uberschall Model next time....More Gain....

Thanks (More gain has to be a good thing)

Re: New metal recording. Ibanez/CC

i mean, by raising the guitar in the mix, will probably solve the problem
you can also use the diezel model
IT´S ****IGN GREAT.

Re: New metal recording. Ibanez/CC

Those Riffs are tight! Love them. Great sound too.

You will like what Cage9 from Panama is doing. Check out their site at www.cage9.com

Their latest album "El Motivo" is absolutely brilliant.

Pretty cool man! Thats good tone but IMHO a little overproduced like you would hear on a lot of metal albums. If that is your thing then you are really good at it! Personally I'd like to hear a little more 'air' and maybe some more dirt in your tone to liven it up.
Awesome riffing, no question.

Re: New metal recording. Ibanez/CC

Thanks.
I agree that it sounds over produced.
I use alot of compression during mastering to tame some of the harshness from the PODxt. As I get better at recording, I will try to use less compression, and make the mix sound more natural.

ok,
I re-recorded the song using diezel models on the PODxt.
It has a bit more gain (Thank you WTF).

The Diezel lead is in the center, and the Herbert is on far left and far right.

Re: New metal recording. Ibanez/CC

wow! that sounds like a proffesionaly made song...

reminds of quake 2 's soundtrack.

awsome! how do you record? where do you get drums and bass from? what ibanez do you have? what tuning are you using? somethings from niobium remind of petrucci 7 string.

Re: New metal recording. Ibanez/CC

I use apple's Garageband to record, and program the drums and bass in there.

The guitar is an Ibanez RG321 with a CC trembucker tuned to drop D.
