Fender Blacktop Strat. I traded a Samick Les Paul copy. Going through my pile of pickups now, as I’m not exited about these Fender “Hot Alnico’s”. Very weak and thin sounding. Other than that, the guitar feels and plays amazing. Beautiful colors too. On the way home, I stopped by WD Music and picked up a HSS Mint pickguard, CTS 500k pots and a Tele 3 way switch. May not even use the pickguard. but for $10, what the hell. Wendy also gave me an H pickguard to make a Template for a slanted H/H - two pot pickguard for them to make for me. It’d have no top volume hole. I’m thinking that’s what I’ll end up going with, but for now I need to get these Fender pickups out.

I am a big proponent of HSS on Strats but this look just, works!

Not going with anything that I have. Doing a ‘59/Custom in the bridge. Not sure yet for the neck. Any suggestions?

It’s kind of hard to tell in the picture, but the pickguard on the guitar now is mint green. I think I’m staying with that until I get one made with a slanted bridge and no top volume hole. Found a used bridge pickup, hoping to have it by next weekend, just have to figure out something for the neck. I’ll wire it up to the guard that’s on there now, and just transfer it over to the new guard when I get that.

I want to go H-H on my Peavey Predator. Two covered ‘buckers looks slick on a Strat.

I like HH Strats. I'd add an Alnico II Pro and scallop the neck.
