Picked up a new gig playing bass. Spent the last month or so building up a new rig. The bass I've had for over a decade, but I needed a new amp/cabs.

Sounds great (IMO).

Mesa Subway D-800.

800w @ 4ohm. Handles down to 2ohm. Simple layout. Pre/Post DI, JFET pre with tube emulation; it's designed to be overdriven and sounds good doing it.

All I did was copy the rock settings from the manual and took it to practice. Sat perfect in the mix and I haven't had to touch a thing on it.

This new Subway series stuff is light. The head is 5.5lbs and the cabs are 33 lbs and 38 lbs.

I can carry everything I need in one trip with a gig bag on my back and a cab in each hand, which is pretty sweet.
