New musical project in the works; acoustic songwriting demo (ELO influenced)

Long story short: a friend of mine's band imploded, leaving him with just guitar and drums. Another friend of mine (who is a singer), her boyfriend opened a BYOB restaurant in Jersey City, and they have live bands play there. We thought it would be fun to put together a little project, write 8 songs, and then play them at the bar for the fun of it. I have written 6 of the 8 songs in the past week and a half.

I was tasked with writing the songs, and wanted to do something different, so I went with a Euro-rock, 4-on-the-floor approach.

This is one of the demos, I think it came out rather well.

Started out like a 70's disco track haha..but I loved the chorus..totally epic man. That solo was real tasty too! I don't/have never owned an accoustic (hardly ever even played one to be honest..) and could'nt dream of doing an accoustic gig..more power to you man.

I just keep listening to it waiting for the grind to hit. Though it is a fantastic clean acoustic sound.

Thanks! Oh, there will be electric guitars! So far there is only one acoustic number. Thanks for the kind words re the solo, as I am playing bass and synths on this one, That solo is just a place holder.

Thanks, will be a ways away. Our first jam is Tuesday; will see whether there is even a musical connection going on. We are all friends, but only guitar/drums have played together before. This may be over before it starts no matter how excited anyone is about it.

It's an interesting project. It 's my idea, I wrote all the music, demo'd the arrangements, put together the lineup, and scheduled the rehearsal. But I want to be in another band like I want another hole in my head. To me, this is a very casual affair, I just happen to be a prolific writer and like moving fast...

The part that comes in with the drums actually reminds me a ton of blue oyster cult! I think if you blend in some crunchy electric at that part it would contrast nicely with the next bit which sounds to my ears like it needs to be clean. I think my favorite part is the ending! Quite epic.

Of course man! I've been enjoying your stuff quite a bit lately. And that makes sense about composing the demos to reflect what can be done live.
