A little while ago I took my Jackson as a little project. Quite beat up and I was unsatisfied with it. I sanded off the thick finish, bought new saddles to the bridge, put its original pickups back (just to try if they sound better now) but now screwed into wood instead of using pickup rings, changed pots and some little stuff. Today I set up the bridge, raised the action a bit from what I´m usually used to and voila. Sounds a lot fuller, a lot better. I like it, it feels like reborn. I always get amazed about how those little things can do so much. These pups may stay.
The wood is Indian cedro. Pic won´t tell much but it looks cool in natural finish.
