New passive pickups for a 7 string

Hi there,
About 6 months ago I bought a Schecter Omen-7 guitar (seven string obviously) and although the standard Schecter Diamond Plus passive pickups are good, I'm looking to start recording music and I have a feeling Ill need something more beefy.

So I need some new passive seven string pickups, NOT active, I really couldn't be effed skrewing around rewiring and cutting holes for battery's and stuff so just passive pups

I have heard great things about both the Nazguls and The Black Winters but because of how the mobile site is set up I can't tell if either are passive or active (I'm on holiday on mobile site) so what do youse all think, and is it hard to change pickups ?

Thanks all in advance

Re: New passive pickups for a 7 string

Well you can put a battery in a control cavity for actives, but if you really want passive, yes the Nazgul and Black Winters are both passive pickups. My favorite is a Distortion but the Black Winter is like a beefed up Distortion. A great neck pickup for these is the Sentient or a PAF style pup that allows you to have a great range of tones from super high gain to squeaky cleans.

How much in Australian dollars are the black winter and the sentient? I can never seem to find pricing or dealers for pickups in Australia...

Re: New passive pickups for a 7 string

You might have to order straight from SD to get a seven string pup. I can't find anything on the recommended Australian Duncan distributor or Musos.com.
