new pedal board day!

super rad stuff

just got myself one of these. i luv it, it's so much more organized to have the wires running underneath the framework than to just have everything sprawled out like i did in that roadrunner case-bag/board that i had. while the bag is good for what it is, just something to keep your pedals in and travel with, it's just too messy that i couldn't stand it anymore. this setup is essentially the same size too, able to fit about 10 or so standard sized pedals on. right now my chain is as follows:

boss tuner > mxr classic OD > mxr classic dist. > dunlop hendrix wah > digitech x series flanger > carbon copy > amp, with the footswitch on the bottom right corner. it's probably going to be changing again soon. i'll probably have pics up by tomorrow or so. this, along with my soon-to-be ac15, will be a very pro setup:D

Re: new pedal board day!

looks nice, I want one. What are you powering the pedals with?

Re: new pedal board day!

I have the little Pedaltrain, too; absolutely love it!

I have my board powered from a 1Spot; works a treat, though I need a 2nd power supply for the Philosopher's Tone ...

They're awesome, here's mine.
Best of all the Pedal Power 2 fits underneath.

Re: new pedal board day!

Cool, congrats on that... It's something I want to get in the new year.

i'm just using a boss 9v psa-120 adaptor with a couple daisy chains. i got it to look neat and it powers everything up so why bother changing it, ya know? pics in a couple minutes:D

i know, right? it's even got some extra brackets and instructions on how to set it up with one. very cool board btw, much higher end stuff than what i've got:eyecrazy: same goes for twilight:eyecrazy::eyecrazy:

it's still a mess underneath though... but that doesn't matter. it's all wired up correctly and the mess is all under the board now. works for me:)

in comparison, this is what my original board was. it was a cool setup, but was too congested with... stuff.... and boss pedals now that i think about it:lol:

pretty close to the settings I use on my turbo flange, when i actually use it. Its my least favorite pedal that i own...

i actually really like the sound that it gives me, but in bypass mode i can hear it still swirling in the background when i've got some distortion happening but i'm not playing. kinda disappointing, but oh well. still gets me closer to some of the sounds i want than just my chorus alone though.

Re: new pedal board day!

i just thought that pedal sounded too "hi-fi" for me, some kind of warmer flange would suit me better.

Re: new pedal board day!

Like you, I've been really appreciating MXR pedals lately.

I even made a small OD board on black plywood. It's got nothing but the MXR Classic OD and Zakk Wylde OD, and a power supply. It's a little board I can plop down in front of any amp rig and get my gain tones dialed in seconds. I'm mostly using it in front of my Jubilee 50W halfstack, for highgain Marshall lead tones that are no louder than a modeling amp, but sounds better.

hehe... honestly, i just like the idea of having bought an $80 distortion and $100 overdrive for around $30 apiece, it just helps that they sound good:)

btw, i've been wanting to get another classic distortion. they don't sound any different, but they've got a new pinstripe pattern with a white/red design!

there a are a few serious changes i still want to make though. firstly, i think i might want to go digital with the delay. not saying i am completely committed to the idea, but it's there.

second, is i'm probably gonna get an ernie ball volume pedal jr. it'll definitely fit, because that peavey footswitch is only temporary since i'm not staying with that amp. also helps that i'm getting the tuner out of the chain with the volume pedal. otherwise.

Re: new pedal board day!

Congrats on your new purchase. It's always fun to have new stuff, especially guitar stuff.

Re: new pedal board day!

thanks, phil:) btw, looking through your thread made me realize... i don't think i've seen your board fully assembled. maybe you should post it:naughty:

Very boring to be honest. It's really a no frills, just what I need setup. The only thing I might add during the holiday season is good delay.

** The mesa pedal is now for a Stiletto. That is the only change.

Re: new pedal board day!

I have a PT2 being delivered today. My OCD finally got the better of me and I can now clean up that mess of a board!!
