The prongs on the switch I got made it hard to find a good spot (too long). I even thought about moving the yellow "diode" near the switch so I could accomodate the switch there. De-soldering the switch was hard enough as it was so I looked for another spot.
B.t.w. I'm a carpenter/joiner, not an electromagician.
You need a switch with just 3 prongs (it has to be an "on/on" switch).
I used 2 different color wires, because that is what I got. Easier to explain would have been if I used 3 colors.
But it is quite simple. Just lay down the switch and connect left to left, middle to middle and right to right (parallel).
Tried yanking it, but had to de-solder anyway. This was actually the hardest part. The solder on the bottom of the PCB came off quite easy. But there is a bit of solder on the component side of the PCB as well, which is hard to get to with the switch still on.
What you really want is a switch with the shortest prongs as possible. I bought mine at a shop like RS (but we don't have RS in The Netherlands)
P.S. it would be cool if someone posted a pic of the PCB from the "Classic".
I have a feeling they combined the "MXR '78 badass" with the "Classic" and they combined the "GT-OD" with the "ZW 44" on their respective PCB's

Can't wait to find out! That would be sweet to have a bonus distortion pedal, but I'm pretty sure I've seen Classic owners say that their switch goes to the ZW.

I think he is talking about the Classic Distortion. The '78 is so new I doubt the circuit was built into the CD, they've been out for a while. Might be able to get there with some component changes(?).

I think it's been established that the classic distortion is the distortion III, and I don't think there's a switch.

Yup, just opened my new Classic Distortion up. No switch, but that's not what I was looking for -- pulled C4, and instantly made it a better, brighter pedal. YMMV, of course.

A normal edition one did not sell for 49.99 + shipping.. It re-listed at 39.99 + shipping and sold for that price with only 1 bid.

Well, I pulled the trigger on the M-66, white with green lettering. Went up to GC an hour ago. They (in Sacramento) have 5 more in stock. They don't have any more green CL-1 models and won't be getting anymore in. At least not at the $29.99 price. Darn! I was going to get one of them and do a "taste test" compairing the ZW-44 I have (no switch) anf the M-66 and Cl-1.
Oh well, at least I've got one of the anniversary editions in white with green script.

Update: I did the mod today. Took me 20 minutes! It was a little too easy. The switch is really crammed in there but it is in and working fine.
Now, help me figure this out. So I lined up the wires in parallel and the switch has not been twisted around, it is still in parallel position. However, when I flip to the left, that actually sounds more like the GT-OD. To the right, ZW. Isn't this the opposite of how it should be? The stock switch on the board was in the right position. Now, when I move my mini switch to the right, shouldn't that be the same setting? When I switch from right to left there is a thumping addition of bass to the tone and possibly more volume as well. Let me know what you think.
