New pedalboard - 1st pics

Hey guys.

I've been trying to motivate myself for a while now to finally build and wireup my new pedalboard.

Work gave me the afternoon off today, so I took it upon myself to get the board done and here's a 1st look at it:

Pedalboard.jpg

The signal path is as follows:

Modified Vox Wah
HBE Uno Mos clean boost (for when I use a Strat to boost the level slightly)
Roger Mayer Voodoo Axe Fuzz / buffer
BOSS TU2 Pedal Tuner
HBE CPR Compressor
HBE Power Screamer Overdrive
HBE Big D OD/Distortion
HBE UFO Fuzz/Octave
Custom WOBO 3 chanel true bypass looper
BOSS CE5 Chorus Ensemble + BOSS TR2 Tremolo (loop 1)
MXR Phase 90 (loop 2)
Ibanez DE7 Delay/Echo (loop 3)
HBE Dos Mos 2 Channel Clean Boost / buffer

Judging by the size of the pedalboard when I 1st got it, I thought I'd easilly be able to fit the pedals I wanted across the front in 1 row, with a 1/2 row of pedals a little further back. As you can see it didn't quite turn out that way

This board may seem a little 'extreme' for most people, but I'm 1 of those guys that gets bored with using 1 or 2 sounds all the time and like keep my options open :naughty:

***EDIT***

Here's a pic of the finished board after being wired for power. I've also replaced the HBE Big D with my G2D Custom Overdrive. I feel that I need to tweak the Big D more before i 'know' it well enough to put it on my board to use it live :)

Those HBE's look sweet :)

How's the Big D OD/Distortion? I'm looking for a straight out Distortion pedal, but not for metal.

Thanks for the posts guys :)

I'm still tweaking it to be honest. It's 1 of the most 'in-depth' OD/Distortion pedals I've ever used. There's already alot of options available (diode selection hard or soft clipping etc) but the controls are so sensitive on it. It'd be a great pedal to keep in a studio just because it's so versatile.

I also ordered mine with both the stock IC and a Burr Brown IC, so that's twice as many options I've got to sort through :oo

Very cool. I'll bet it sounds like heaven through a good amp too. This kinda reminds me of Bbent at Butch's jam whipping out this huge pedalboard and constantly stepping on one wild sounding doo-dad after another with his sandals on. It was funny as can be watching him angle his sandal sideways and tiptoe down to activate something.

very cool... i take it that red box is some sort of FX Loop pedal? what is it exactly?

That's kinda like me at times to be honest (with the balancing I mean, not with the sandals :D)

The big red box in the middle of the board you mean? It's a custom WOBO 3 channel looper.

It's essentially a true bypass box, but it switches the effects in it's loops using relays and not true bypass switches :)

The other red box is the HBE UFO Fuzz Octave :)

How much does the powerstation run, including the power cables to run from pedal to pedal?

It's about £50 for the unit itself and a daisy chain to power 5 pedals. Additional daisy chains are about £4 each, so you just buy as many as you need and link them up :)

Great looking pedal board Craig. I really should get mine sorted one of these days.

Re: New pedalboard - 1st pics

You have some great pedals, I almost bought the UFO and still might. I have played all those HBE. The Dos Mos is another favorite of mine.

Thanks mate :)

Most of the pedals I had at SDF UGD UK are gone now (dunno if you remember what I actually bought with me that day?)

wow, 3 rows of pedals? I can barely handle 2 ... lol

It's only worked out to 3 rows of pedals due to not being able to fit enough pedals across the width of the board :D

Of the 3rd row, only the HBE Uno Mos (the small Orange pedal at the start of the chain) will actually be stepped on. The WOBO Looper on the 2nd row is acting as the on/off switches for the Chorus, Trem, Phaser and Delay on the 3rd row :)

The UFO is 1 of the few fuzz pedals I've been able to get a sound out of that I like (the other is the Roger Mayer Voodoo Axe).

The UFO is very thick sounding (and the octave effect is great) while the Roger Mayer is thinner and brighter sounding. So both can have a home on my board. Plus the Roger Mayer has a great buffer in it, which is always useful on a board as stupidly OTT as mine is (according to some people atleast :D)

Re: New pedalboard - 1st pics

I say yours is still UTT. Not enough pedals, too much space. Get crackin'!

Re: New pedalboard - 1st pics

As much as I love big pedalboards, every time I see how many wires go between them... whoaa...
