New Pickup Advise!

Ok, so I love the Custom Custom...My question is, I am looking for same sound but with a crispier/tighter bottom end. Any advise?

The bottom by definition can't be "crispy" -- that's the treble. But it can be tighter. Sounds like putting either an Alnico 5 or a ceramic magnet in your CC would do the trick.

But if the ceramic and Alnico 5 turn out to be a little too much, try an Alnico 4.

I may be totally wrong here, but if you adjust your presence knob on your amp - would that add some crispness to the treble?

Funny thing!
I play punk rock with my 59b.
i think the amp has a lot to do with the sound you get from your PU.
Maby it`s your amp!!!

Ok guys, he said bass, and it isn't just the amp the CC could use a bit more tightness in the bass. I agree with Zhangliqun the magnet swap is a good idea.

By adding presence it would add too much to the treble side of the spectrum.

I actually want to get another pup, and not just modify one. I'll try to give this magnet swap a shot. Either that or get a regular Custom for my other guitar.
