New Pickup Problem

I am putting a new 59 Seymore Duncan on my Epiphone. I pulled the old pick up and it had a red and a white wire. The new pickup has only one wire. I don't know what to do now. Can anyone help me ?

You have a single conductor 59. Just attach the lead from the 59 to the hot lug of the pot, then solder the out braided wire to the back of the pot to ground it.

Okay, lets see if I have this. The single wire connects to the lug. That wire is covered by a metal sleeve. I slit the sleeve and soder that also ?
