New pickups for a Schecter Blackjack

I have a Schecter Blackjack C-1 with Duncan Blackouts, and I'm planning to replace them with something else. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a tone I liked with the Blackouts, and overall actives just aren't my thing I guess. The guitar's specs: mahogany neck and body, ebony fretboard, original Floyd Rose, SD Blackouts AHB-1, scale 25,5'', electronics: vol/vol/tone/3-way switch

The tone I'm trying to shape has a kind of a screaming 'aw' or 'wow' vowel in the high mids. Describing tone in words is difficult, here are some samples of the style I'm looking for:

I play metal, but with much less gain than you'd think. I boost my Engl Screamer with an Ibanez TS (clean, level on full), and my gain is generally at 1,5.

Some pickups that I've considered for the bridge:
- Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB
- Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion
- DiMarzio PAF Pro
- BKP Nailbomb

I'm not sure if the Distortion will have enough of a high mids spike to make the mahogany guitar sound like that. On the other hand, I'm not sure if the JB has enough top end. What pickups would make those high mids scream? For reference, I have a basswood Ibanez RG with SH-8 Invader in the bridge, and with the help of the Tubescreamer, I just about get that tone. It has an irritating fizz, though, which somehow sounds very disconnected from the overall tone.

Make sure you have a ground wire coming from the bridge. Some guitars that came stock with actives don't and you may have to drill a hole.

After that, Dimarzio Evolution set.

The Dimarzio Norton humbucker can give you those vowel sounds. It's made for mahogany set neck guitars.

I got a C1ex, its a 26.5 scale tuned to B standard with slightly thicker strings, forgot the gauge.... Mahogany like yours. I have Dimarzio Titans and I can get those tones both the low gain and the high gain. great pickups.
