Are you swapping out the ubiquitous EMG 81/60 pickups because you require pickups that ARE passive or would you be content with pickups that SOUND passive?
In my LTD EC401w, I have Seymour Duncan Live Wire Classic II active humbuckers. You might prefer to check out the EMG-57 and -66 models.
