New pickups for strat.

Ok, so here's the deal I own two strats (Highway One and a Mexican) and frankly the Highway One pretty much makes the Mexican useless, since it is a better instruments. So, I was thinking of putting some new pickups in the MIM. I'm pretty much settled on a JB jr in the bridge (it's a splattocaster, which I don't want to change the pickguard on, so a full size JB is not at option) but I'm still not sure about the neck and middle.

I considered the set that comes with a Lil 59 and a Duckbucker, but I think I want to keep a single coil in the neck. What would be a good set of pickups that would not be too similar to the Highway One's pickups (Alnico 3 magnets, relatively high output). I'm thinking of the SSL-1, SSL-3, SSL-5, Alinco Pro II. I'm probably leaning towards the SSL-1, but I am open to suggestions.

With a name like RHCP, I assume you dig Fru's tones.... SSL-1's should get you there, I believe.

Yup, I do dig Frusciante tones, especially the stuff on Californication, By The Way and Stadium Arcadium. That's probably the sound I'm after the most, but I also like Hendrix's cleans (Little Wing).

SSL-1's, and some compression will get you there then. Good luck!
