New POTs for my '59 LP Custom VOS

I have a '59 LP Custom VOS and I'm wanting a smoother volume transition with my pups. The problem is when rolling off the volume, I don't hear a difference until I'm down around 4.5 or 2. This is a real pain to have to roll the knob that far before getting a volume reduction and then it's a drastic change...kinda like all or nothing. If I'm going to get new volume POTS, I'll get CTS, but should I go with 500k or what do you all think? The pups on my LP (BurstBucker 1 (rhythm) and BurstBucker 2 (treble) pickups). I wouldn't mind a little more bite if possible.

Also, if I change the magnets in my Burstbuckers to A5s what would you recommend for the volume POTs, if that matters?

Thanks for helping out an inexperienced person :)

Go for the RS SuperPots kit for Les Pauls, that should do the trick. (rsguitarworks.net). You already have CTS pots in your guitar. I think Les Pauls sound best with 500K pots all around as well. Some people put in 250K pots for the bridge (either both or one 250K for the tone im not exactly sure) if they have too bright of a tone in the bridge spot and RS a kit called the treble tamer kit for that reason. It was put out to solve that problem on the LP Standards that have Burstbucker Pros with Alnico V magnets which tend to sound nasty in the bridge spot. The BB Pros are pretty much the same as what you have besides the AV mag so I would not recomend that mod. Good luck, get the pots, see where that takes you.

Superpots won't help. It sounds like you have linear's in there. You should change them for audio-taper. I'm guessing, the "superpots" are audio-taper, but there's no need to spend that kind of money. Standard CTS will work great.
