New Project Bass Day

So for the last few months my wife has been telling me that she wants me to teach her to play bass.

We were in a local resale/pawn shop today and I (as usual) was perusing the crappy selection of guitars. She came over to find me and I pointed out a bass to her that I had noticed hanging on the wall. I pointed it out because it was her favorite color.

To my surprise, she wanted it! (Again, because of its color). I got it down and checked it out. Everything works fine on it and the neck didn't feel too bad (aside from the action being WAY too high and the fret ends needing some work). They wanted next to nothing for it, so we ended up walking out with her first bass and a new project for me! [emoji41][emoji1303]

It's a "Crescent," which I've never heard of before and the neck has virtually no finish on it. The fretboard is dry as a bone too. Will probably leave the back of the neck alone, but we might put some finish on the headstock. Everything wrong with it is relatively easy to take care of... hardest thing will be the fret ends.

So, I hardly ever buy bass strings, but I'm gonna need a new set after I'm done working with it. Nothing fancy or expensive, but I just KNOW she's gonna want me to find some with the pink on the ends like what's already there. How do I go about finding those?

The fret ends look like they just need to be tapped in a bit better.

Second of all, don't try to find a set with pink silk ends. You'll drive yourself mad. Instead, surprise her with a set of these
