New Project Day – Schecter & Warmoth

Have quite a bit of parts lying around and found a body super cheap so I'm gonna see if they can't come together for a cool guitar.

Body is a Schecter Damien–I've always loved the shape of these and the Omen. Have owned a couple but did not care for the original necks. Neck is a Warmoth Roasted Maple+Rosewood.

Pickups will be either a Bill Lawrence L500 set (XL & R) or a Screamin Demon+Liquifire combo.

Hey Trey, is that an early locking non-fine tune Floyd? and will you use locking tuners?
That's gonna be avery fine looking and purposeful guitar!

this should be decent.

Glad it has some sort of your approval–I know it doesn't have 27+frets and some awesome theme but it should serve my purposes ;)

Its a modern early style non-fine tuner Floyd :D

Not 100% sure on the tuners yet, this neck already had Sperzel Locking Tuners on it–probably will just get another set of those so I don't have to worry about the fit and possibly redrilling.

Thank you very much! It's my favorite body style–really love the looks of the Damiens and Omens.

 ...oops, you are right. lol

So...I'll see how bad the intonation is. Way to rain on my parade :grumble:

Jk! :D

Dude, nothing to apologize for!

I didn't even think about that...you definitely saved me a future headache trying to figure out what is wrong. lol And, may be able to make it work–I'll at least give it a go.

Besides, a 24 Fret from Warmoth with the same specs is not that bad thanks to Roasted Maple not needing a finish so not a total loss. :D

Thanks and will do! Although, the 24 vs 22 fret hiccup might make it more of a project than I anticipated. lol

Re: New Project Day – Schecter & Warmoth

I was about to be "that guy" myself, and might still be seeing as even Warmoth's 24-fretters are 22-fertters with a two-fret overhang. Schecters and most 24-fretted superstrats start with a 24-fret heel, no overhang.

Might work but it might require gluing extra material at the bottom of the heel and re-shaping a new heel (which will result in a two-fret gap between the end of the heel and the neck pickup).

In any case, a cool project and one I'd be interested in seeing how it'll go!

Re: New Project Day – Schecter & Warmoth

Were the Schecter necks 24.75 scale length? If so you might have some
wriggle room with the saddle intonation with your 25.5 neck.
Just measure from the twelfth fret to your first string saddle and if it's
close enough to 12.75 inches you're in the ball park and could adjust
to intonate all the saddles if there is enough length in their travel.

Re: New Project Day – Schecter & Warmoth

Most Schecters are 25.5, I believe only the C1 Custom and MAYBE a couple more obscure models are 24.75".
It is also the only (non-custom shop) one that has 22 frets.
