Thanks, threechordscharlie. This has been a long time in the making. Maricela from the Custom Shops made the pickups years ago and they sat becasue I never had the funds for the rest of the build. Then I corresponded with Derek Duncan and he reverse wound one of them this past summer so that I can use a DPDT pot for series-parallel switching, which I have on my Squier Jazz and love. Tony Dudzik http://www.pickguardian.com, who has made three other pickguards for me, made a guard based on the Tele Thinline guard. The bass is sort modeled on the guitar Mick Jones is playing below.
I am also a big Keef fan (obviously a big Tele player) and the body will arrive at my tech's shop on his 70th birthday.
The bass with have Gotoh GB7s, a Gotoh 201 bridge, and a Warmoth AAA Birdseye maple neck.
The only instrument I ever sold was a cream colored Tele 6-sting that had some sort of weird, tiny 3-way switch (have never seen another one like it). Have regretted it ever since.
Wow... Youd make a helluva salesman....none of the ingredients seem much up my alley (diff tastes, not quality issues), yet here I am finding myself WANTING IT
