Hi guys ,i want to go with Duncan for the neck .I like a "contrast" tone to my Distortion ,since i play most of my solos with the bridge PU ,i need something really different than my bridge pu inthe neck.Clear ,screaming not much warms since i have a dark sounding guitar. And i never use the mid position.
What would you recommend.?!?

Re: New Pu for the neck!!!

consider the screamin demon too. although its essentially a bridge pickup, it does matches well in the neck with a hot pickup in the bridge.

Re: New Pu for the neck!!!

thank you guys for the posts.I am not shure ,i don't like the tone of jazz ,demon will fit me in many ways:) but i don't know if the tone will fit me.I like a middy tone with harmonics and a clean character ,i will never play rythm with it or combine it with the bridge.Maybe pearly gates??or Alnico pro?

Re: New Pu for the neck!!!

How about Full Shred neck? I once put an Alnico II Pro neck with a Custom bridge, and the Custom swamped it, totally overpowered it. So, for me, Ceramic+A2 is something to avoid (though the in-between tones were AWESOME.) FSn is definately "clean" sounding. (Though I like my neck pickups "sloppy"--I have a '59. FSn is less bright than a jazz. Though you'd have to see if it "screams" with your amp--I used to get a very vocal tone out of it.

Pearly gates!!!! I like it over the Jazz and the full shred neck or any other neck pickup period! It is a brighter neck pickup that has some sizzle and lots of mojo!
