SH-6 vs. SH-8

Hey guys and girls!

I am thinking about a custom guitar and have a lot of thoughts about the pick ups. Mostly I play high gain rhythm guitars and I prefer a sound with dominant highs and mids for that. I like the SH-6 in the bridge position for this purpose very much. Clear, powerful and hot. Everything I need! I have it in one of other guitars and I like it and I did not find any better on the SD homepage yet.
When playing clean or almost clean parts, I normally switch to the neck pick up. Here I want a really mellow sound: focus on the low end, strong mids, but only a few highs. The SH-6, which is also in the other guitar, does not the job it should in this position. So I listened through many different pu an the SD page. The one, whch satisfies my needs best is the SH-8.
My problem: I never heard about this combination, especially when playing the middle position (both pu). I am wondering if it would work because the sound profile of the SH-8 is very special, different from almost every other pu I know.

Did anyone of you try this combination yet?
Or any thoughts on that?
Maybe you also have other ideas which pu / combination would satisfy me needs perfectly!

Thanks for your help!

Are you talking about the SH-8B in the neck or the SH-8N?

I haven't tried either, honestly, but I'd be interested to see where this goes if it's the SH-8N. I bet it pairs well with the Distortion. Buf it if's the SH-8B in the neck, I honestly don't know how usable that would be.

i wouldnt ever want a sh8b in the neck. i could see the sh8n working with the sh6b

Why are your sure that it could word? I am a little bit concerned that when playing both pu it could become too messed up because treble, bass and especially mids would be covered. This could be a little bit too much, no?

the sh8b in the neck will have a ton of output and be very bassy unless wired in parallel

Do you mean the SH-8B or SH-8N? You weren't clear on that.

I don't see why the SH-8N wouldn't work. It's in the right output ballpark, and it's probably EQ'd the way you want it to. Pickups in the middle position aren't really just A+B, but in any case, I don't see why they wouldn't work together either. Running them in parallel like the middle position does scoop out the midrange, and if neither pickup is overbearing to you, then the middle position probably won't either.
