New pups day!

Got this Japanese market Grover Jackson 1994 Soloist Standard, came with J50n in the neck and a 10.8k bridge pickup I have yet to identify, J80s and J50bs were common in these. They were a little dull so I opted to try out the Slash 2.0 in the neck and my tried and true Rattus Tonus Maximus in the bridge. These pickups both pull off some incredible clean tones as well.

The Slash 2.0, is just plain killer. I like the simplicity of the old school 2 wire cable as well, the tall pickup ears fit this guitar perfectly because it has a top mount floyd (which I have come to prefer), so the pickups come up out of the guitar body more.

The RTM has become one of my top 3 hot bridge pickups. Hot, articulate, lots of head room with nice buttery A2 thump and low end saturation. Angry, pronounced mid range growl.

This guitar feels like a freakin Les Paul it's so solid. The old school, thick jackson neck heel carve, nice full jackson neck profile. It's a heavy, solid guitar.

I feel this guitar needs some pickups with more edge, bite and upper mid range clarity. So I took this as a good excuse to order a Jupiter 6 for the bridge and a Sentient for the neck as I have been curious to try those 2 for awhile now.

Will post updates when the other pickups come. New switchcraft switch on the way too.20251230_020118.webp20251230_020402.webp
