new riff/8100 clip

quick 8100 clip - I love how marshalls (even a lot of their budget ones) have such a cool growl on their normal channels - sorta clean but sorta angry. a lot of amps do this, but marshalls seem to do it in a way that always grabs me.

got it back from the shop yesterday - just needed a good cleaning, but I may switch out some pots down the road.

anyhoo - here's a new riff to illustrate (end ditty is just goofin' off).

I'm really digging the iphone for capturing riffs and emailing them to youtube (another way to remember them, hehe). I could see getting carried away this - I'm surprised more peeps don't upload vids to share quick snippets here!

Even though you write in a genre that I don't particularly care for, you consistently write some of my most favourite riffs on the forum. That little intro part is just awesome. I would love to hear you work this into a full song.

Keep it up, lad. :beerchug:

Also, that sounds awesome for just an Iphone. I didn't know it could do that. I'll have to check into doing that with mine.

Re: new riff/8100 clip

thanks kam!! you bring up a good point - writing in one style really just limits who's gonna listen and like it. I'd like to do a more timeless/accessible type thing, and that would be perhaps a good starting point (as long as I don't turn it into a total thrash attack).

yeah, youtube gives you a weird email address to send it to and it's pretty quick - do one up!

Re: new riff/8100 clip

That is cool. I can imagine it sounding mighty enough in a song, but it's also quite relaxed at the same time. I could describe it as a tone that 'doesn't care'. It doesn't feel the need to announce itself in a 'BAAH I'M SO HEAVY' fashion but it has an identifiable that carries the riff as it should.
