I'm digging that V. The rest, not so much. And I can't stand the abalone either... Schecter is by far the worst offender, followed by ESP/LTD on this.

I hear you man. That V looks pretty cool. Has real Duncans in it too.
I'm a fan of the korina/ebony combo. Works well imo.

Like I said, that wouldn't put much of a dent in Gibson's sales figures :laugh2:. Maybe ESP/LTD...

Exactly. They've totally copped the Abalone binding and inlays from the EC-1000 LTD models along with the quilted top with the see thru black cherry finish (the best selling of the ESP/LTD models). ESP/LTD's been doing this for at least 6 years now. I like that shape though, if not the headstock shape. I like the abalone, although I would only own 1 guitar with it (which in my case is the see thru black cherry LTD EC1K).

ESP/LTD and Schecter may operate seperately but they are part of the same company. Furthermore some LTDs and Schecters Diamond series are made in the same factory in Korea. Other LTDs are made now in Vietnam and Indonesia I think.

For that style, price range, and so on, I would much rather stick with ESP's LTD EC series.
