Just had a listen to the video, they sound great! Can see them working for me with the stuff I do, which isn't strictly Fear Factory style metal, but parts of my technique are definitely influenced by Dino's playing.

Still really hard to say what separates them from the others.

They're lower in gain than the original Blackouts and closer
in output to the "traditional" active pickups we all know
but with way less compression and noise.

Yeah, that's pretty much the main difference, they sound a lot different to me than difference between the Blackouts to EMTY Blackouts. As for the 6-string active pickup players, stay tuned.
