fairly new to guitar. looking at the esp ell horizon iii, comes with the sh-2 and sh-14. I like 80s-90s rock but am also playing avenged sevenfold, metallica etc. will these do the trick? Sure this has been asked numerous times but any help is appreciated. playing out of marshall dsl 20 not effects/pedals. Thanks.

I don't see any reason to think that they wouldn't work.

I figured they were probably solid but have not played enough to know and really getting into the palm muting heavier riffs and wondering how hot I might want the pups. I can always change them out if needed.

The Custom5, as the SH-14 is otherwise known, is just fine for palm mutes.
You shall see. Yessss, you shall see...

The Jazz will be modern, brightish, articulate. Will sound great clean, and be clear and cut for neck leads, yet tight enough for rhythm.

The C5 will be a scooped monster distorted. It will chug along like a Choo-choo. But - it will be flexible enough to cover the range of tones.

Give them a shot.

That is a pretty awesome combo for all kinds of rock, at least the kind made in the last 30 years or so.
