New signature schecters!

Re: New signature schecters!

Jeff Loomis is Amazing.. but he plays a pretty much stock model of a guitar they already sell.

I really dislike that Syn Custom.. horrid paintjob and shape. And yeah

They are, look how many kids love them, and want to stick Invaders in their guitars and buy exclusively Schecter just because of Syn?

Well, its the same reason why a kid heres slash(like me), or jimmy page, and wants a paula. Or hendrix and want a strat. I personally like the syn/avenger shape, and I think that paint job on it is pretty cool. Not that I want one, but ya know.

Re: New signature schecters!

The vengeance standard would be great if it had regular block inlay instead of thge A7X logo.

I happen to actually LIKE Avenged Sevenfold. "Awaking The Fallen" is an amazing record....not a big fan of their newest stuff though.

Im the exact opposite! I prefer the new record, I get tired of the same old screaming vocals.

Same here. And I have no problem that those guys got signature axes. I've never heard of Loomis until being on this board. Should he get a sig axe? Dunno, thats not for me to decide. But as much as everyone slams these guys in A7X, they've got talent and can write songs people like: meaning going on platinum, if not already there, record status. More than most guitar players will ever be able to say for themselves. While I realize that record sales don't have a direct correlation with talent, its not like they're playing simple 4 (power)chord progressions. For christ's sake, their lead guitar player was a jazz student at Musicians Institute in LA. From what I understand its a pretty intense curriculum. So you may not like their music, but from a pure talent aspect, its not like they're some novice hacks. They can actually play whether people want to believe it or not.

Bottom line is that Schecter either thought that they deserved these models or that they would make a good amount of money off of them.... and more than likely both are true in Schecter's eyes.

I like this band but will not be buying one of their sig guitars. I'd rather have my own selected gear that I think sounds good and that is better suited to me. But as I stated before, I'm very happy that they are out there in the lime light as I think it will inspire a lot of good guitar players/playing in the future.

a little off topic here but i always wonder why Epiphone haven't released a Slash sig.. man those things would sell like hotcakes!!

Re: New signature schecters!

Id buy another schecter in a heart beat but hell if I buy that Avenged sevenfold one, and Ill just reinforce the fact that it is quite the queer looking guitar.

Nah, I'm not talking about the guitar, I'm talking about the band.

Re: New signature schecters!

I've got no problem with that. I'm just glad that someone mainstream is inspiring kids to actually know how to play more than just bar chords and simple uninspiring chord progressions.

I agree here. He may not be the greatest, but at least he has helped bring back focus to playing and the guitar hero mentality. No more shoegazers..

Id love this axe if it were in just black and had some standard inlays or bats or something. Dig the shape, duncans, mahogany, floyd. Just dont like another persons name on it..
