How do you get this tone?.I have to learn to catch a good bass tone.

Man...some super cool playing and tone on that clip. Can definitely tell you're serious about what you're doing. I didn't dig the distorted part, but that was not the playing or the idea of a distorted bass, i was the distortion itself...just not my taste.


I really really really need to work on my slap bass technique, but I just don't have the time to put into it......nor do I have a clue where to go about it really

-Cheap, beaten up Squier P-bass with stock pickups
-Old rusty D'Addario strings
-Broken cable
-Cheap, PLASTIC Digitech GUITAR effects module
-Even cheaper cable
-Extremely cheap soundcard ($15 Creative)

Well... since i had NO idea of what order to play the riffs, and were stressed to death (which i always am while recording), i managed to do the fingerstyle part a bit too long. So, just for the CHEESE of it, i put some total 80's wankoff bass there. I hope you understand the humour! ;)

Well, three years ago when i first thought i should learn slap, i got extremely frustrated since i couldn't even hit the string with my thumb in 50 attempts. Then, i just tried to play simple slap grooves, and gradually i put more and more technical details and licks into it. It all went sorta smoothly. :)
