So slash just posted on ultimate guitar tabs that he has a new LP sig. model coming out as well as a new 100watt sig amp that he is designing with Marshall!

^ I think that is the one he is making w/ Gibson. The '59 copy he used in the early days of GNR.

It'll be a standard les paul, but with SD A2's. It'll be in some sort of burst.

And that's it. That's his signature.



To be honest, if i wanted a Slash signature. I'd be a used Les Paul Classic goldtop, i'd take off the pickgaurd, and it's put in two black uncovered A2pros. Iconic. Wouldn't cost so much either.

Ya I have an '03 Gibson LP Classic that I used to have both Alnico II pro's in (I have since took out the bridge, but still have the neck installed). Pure slash tone. The only thing I can think would be different is that the classics have a chambered body and the slash models most likely have a solid body.

I believe the older Classic models were all solid bodies, they just had the thinner necks and the green-ish inlays to distinguish themselves from the Standards.

Is it just me or does anyone see something odd about Gibson making a copy of a copy of a reissue?

How about just a 59 reissue with A2p's...that Slash likes.

That is pretty much all it is going to be. A '59 RI that he likes with A2P pickups and a finish to match the original one.

It would probably just be cheaper to buy a regular '59 RI and stick A2P's in it.

ya and most of the time, the "artist sig." model is the same as the regular models but the only thing different is that it may have the person's favorite set of pickups and their name on it. The slash models are the perfect example. If you wanted "slash" gold top model but maybe didnt have the money, all you have to do is go a buy a gold top "classic" or gold top "standard", put A2P pickups in it, throw a tonepro
s bridge on it and it's pretty much the same thing, just without Slash's name on it. And with this new one that coming, buy a R9 LP, put some black A2P's in it and boom, there you go!

I'll say this - the SLASH model when he was in Velvet revolver (including the Epi) was both timely and awesome. Rare - but it happens.

I'm more interrested in Slash's deal with marshall. what did they concoct this time? I seriously hope it wont be something like the kirk hammett-thingy with Randall. But Marshall knowing, it will crap all over the place. Since the 6100 30th anniversary, all they came up with, excluding reissues, ofcourse, was crap. The 410H sounds like a bumblebee in a tin can, that new modeling-like combo, forgot its name, is like a bigger bumblebee in a bigger can, the DSL and TSL, well, I can never get them sound right. But the JCM800 2203: that was an amp! If EVER I get a nice, big place for myself, without neighbours, I'll buy that amp again, and play, all day long! JCM800 galore
