Honestly, I have no idea what I'm doing in that solo. It is way out of my wheelhouse. I would never play anything like that, and even though I'm playing it, I would love to be able to play like that. That solo is sooooo not my style. I'm just a pentatonic kind of guy, and even then I don't really even know what I'm doing. Anyways, the way that solo came about is that I was just sitting here listening to the playback with the guitar in my hands, and I happened to accidentally hit the first note of that solo while holding the guitar. I wasn't even playing. I just happened to finger that first note. I thought to myself that it sounded kind of cool, odd, and weird. The solo really kind of wrote itself with the song's help. I hit that note by accident, and then I just started playing where it was leading me in my head. Every note seemed to lead itself to the next note. If I never would have been holding the guitar at the time I was listening back to the song, I would have ended up laying down another meaningless one or two take crappy pentatonic solo off the top of my head. It's weird how things happen.

I liked it. The 'not pentatonic, not major/minor'-ness of it made me pay more attention.

I dig it - has a slight 80's neoclassical hair metal vibe to it and the lead lines have that "Blackmore snake charmer scale" vibe.

Thanks, Don. Yeah, it's the Kemper. It's a Friedman Smallbox Aldrich profile that I downloaded from a guy in a Kemper Facebook group. I tweaked it a little bit to my liking, although I think I made it a little too bright.

I must admit I thought it may have been a variation of a Friedman profile as I’ve been listening to loads of sound clips of amps and pedals. I had been thinking of getting a Friedman Amp as the DS and BE pedals I have are damn good but I’ve recently hit the bullet and picked up a Kemper Power Rack instead. I haven’t had a lot of time with it yet due to work and looking after grandkids, I am awaiting a floorboard to turn up too.
