New test recording for 7 string

Re: New test recording for 7 string

Thanks,
I'm still trying to reign in some of the lows from that low B string.
Maybe I should use a .56 or .58. I think .60 is too big.
I was really more worried about it sounding fizzy.

Re: New test recording for 7 string

Have you tried the tubescreamer trick? Seriously, that'll tighten ANYTHING up. Mesa's are normally fairly loose, but my 7 is as tight as a dolphins ass (watertight).

Re: New test recording for 7 string

yep, there is a screamer on in this clip., it's also the bogner model. the screamer makes it alot smoother.

Re: New test recording for 7 string

Try out the MS Criminal model - it owns everything else, IMO.

Re: New test recording for 7 string

The guitar used is a dean avalanche 7, with the stock pickups.
The bridge pickup is a bit grainy, but is voiced quite well for this guitar, so I haven't bothered to swap out for something better. plus, the neck pickup is creamy smooth, nice. maybe a JB7 or DD7 in the future.$

I do occasionally use the MS criminal model, but the Bogner is my favorite at the moment, because it's less fizzy, at least to my ears.
