New To Forum - Urgent Help Needed - Strat Antiquity's

Firstly hi all... new to seymour duncans and need some advice

I am recently on holiday and stumbled across Nick Johnson's Seymour Duncan Demo of the Texas Hot Antiquity set - Incredible sounding pickups so i have just purchased some 😊

My question, which i cannot find any answer to or even discssion of, is what kind of pots are best suited to these pick ups 250k or 500k

In addition, i know the middle pick up is reverse wound/reverse polarity, is it wired exactly the same as a normal pick up

Reason for the urgency / needing help... i wanted to buy suitable pots etc to be waiting for me (with my new pickups) for when i get back off holiday

For info, strat is adler, maple neck, 3 pups but also have an alder rosewood neck (if it would be better suited)

Any help would be much appreciated

Welcome to the forum!

Use 250k pots...they are Strat pickups, after all.
Wire the middle like a normal pickup.

Many thanks Dave... i assumed that to be the case but just needed to check. I am guessing that to be the same for tye surfers too?

I am now looking at them for my other strat - might buy them later today

I am very very impressed with both sets as a whole... pretty much the start sound i am after

Will do dave... still awiting my new strat neck but ill show partial assembly in the mean time

250k for sure.

I've tried the SSL-5 with 250k and 500k pots, and they work better with 250k. Strat pickups are Strat pickups for the most part (excepting super high output mini humbuckers), so they work best with traditional Strat wiring, for the most part.

Just ordered a 250k blender circuit. So itll work as normal and blend the custom bridge in, if required

Hopefully should sound pretty sweet - Unless anyone knows of a reason why not???
