New tunage half metal/half stupid

Here's a rough mix of a new tune I'm working on. Thought I'd mix down a version with the guitars and bass before I destroy it with vocals (and maybe some solos). Not really mastered, but a bit of compression on the master bus.

Now's the chance for everyone whose mixes I said blow chunks can pay me back ten fold! mwahahaha!

thanks fellas! Nothing for days and then bam - several responses. I figured no one digged it! Thanks for listening, commenting, and the inspiration to finish it up.

if anyone cares, the gits (not the bass) are (mainly) peavey's revalver MKIII demo. so if anything is really off, let me know - I can still go in and tweak with another amp model or something.

It's not that people don't care or don't like the clips; it's that we don't stop in here frequently enough. Also, it takes effort to critique tuneage.

good point. I selectively comment for some reason as well.

This is good stuff, man! I love the rhythm tone at 1:35. The part after that is very Toolesque. Cool!

thank you very much. that particular riff was quad-tracked - two had a virtual 6505 head (with moderate gain) panned hard L and R and two had a virtual JSX (with rather low gain) panned like 60% L and R.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, Dank, I can't resist chucking in my 2c!

To me, it sounds a bit like two or maybe three songs edited in together.
The main riff on opening, for the first 30 seconds is strong enough to carry the whole tune by itself, maybe with the higher gain "Zombie" riff at 1:35 as a contrasting tone. The build up at 4:15 to end is great and really lifts the tune.
The only reason that I'm commenting at all is because I really dig this grind tone. Sounds like something I would have wrote myself. Well done, man.

yeah, for some reason I was set on having several guitar tones in one song, and then I started using the song as a testing ground for MKIII, which lent to further lack of cohesion and the 3-songs-in-one result. two or three guitar tones might be a better avenue rather than three or four. got a bit carried away...thanks!
