Just finished this yesterday. Back to the funky place again....Mommy always said, when you are scared, go to your funky place...

I am useing my 56 LP jr and its super greazy P-90. 50 years has seemed to season it well...:smokin: I am also useing a 64 Gibson head, the pairing of the git and the amp was really my only option...lol It is a screaming combo. Rikki Davenport, once again, kills on the drums and Ward Johnson lays down some freaky synth sounds. CANNOT WAIT TO DO THIS LIVE!!

I would like the lead a little louder ,but that is my ear anyways!

LOL, I didn't mean to scare anyone... Remember, go to your funky place....

I call it the 'round sound' room mics, big, clear sounding speakers. I really like a bit more depth to the sound vs my last CD which is way more in your face. I don't like close mic'd amps anymore, I feel that I lose the 'air' that way.

Many thanks!! That synth was so freaky, I had to it it in there. It was really fun tracking it, cause I was just chasing sounds vs melody. Total outer space stuff....lol

Right before I tracked that, I was listening to Ed and how he really attacked the note with the pick. Those tight little bendy phrases are totally inspired by him.

I tweaked the mix just a bit. Fatter drums and a bit lower in the synth stuff....

Demon,

We are just useing a snare, kick, hat, and a ride cymbal. No rack or floor toms. I room mic'd with on overhead 7 feet up and 2 PZMs back several more feet. I also had a kick mic back a few feet. Basically the room did the work. I am not a fan of isolated drum sounds, I like the room vibe a great deal more. Much more natural and a nice big sound.

Your drummer is awesome by the way.His Ride control is top notch!
