any feedback?

Re: new tune, trippy slow beginning, 'sabbathy' end

I like the main riff and the idea of coming in with a heavy second part. It sounds to me that the two tempos are not the same? When you come in with the heavy part it slows down too much imo. Are you playing to a click track? I also think it takes too long to get to the vocals as is - more interest in the intro section could help.

Re: new tune, trippy slow beginning, 'sabbathy' end

thanks for detailed comments! i don't think the tempos were the same. i wasn't playing to a click track. personally, i didn't think it was that important to keep them the same being that the 2 guitar parts are so different. as for the long wait for the vocals, yea, i struggled with that. when i listened to the finished track i was thinking kind of the same thing you did. i kept it the way it is for probably a lame reason: seems like the last few songs i did were all about the exact same length. by having a longer song i felt i sort of changed things up. but if it takes away from the song then it's not a good idea. thanks again. you always give very good feedback. and coming from you, someone whose music i like a lot, it means a lot. i appreciate it man.

Cheers man. I always try and listen from a fans perspective not the creator. It's much harder to do with your own work, this i know, so I'm glad to give feedback to those who want it.

Re: new tune, trippy slow beginning, 'sabbathy' end

cool stuff! If I were you Id just do instrumentals and get a singer, or keep up the lessons and vocal practicing...that way you can develop more. Id choose an instrument and focus my energy on that to avoid the jack of all trades master of none paradigm...

Re: new tune, trippy slow beginning, 'sabbathy' end

thanks for the directed comments. this is the kind of stuff i need to hear. recently i have been trying to do more vocals. in the past it was all instrumentals. then i'd do a few with vocals here and there. more recently, 4 out of the last 5 songs i've done have had vocals. i know i have a way to go before i'm really comfortable with the singing. i am trying to develop my voice more. thanks again for taking the time to listen and give me good feedback.
