New Tuners Day

Replacing the tweaked Schaller Davinci tuners ( ridiculous Gizmos IMO) on my Warmoth VIP , with the best of the best New Technology Gotoh SL510Z Delta tuners( sounds like an exotic Mercedes model) in Gold 3 on a side . I prefer Gotoh now to Schaller ..they are lighter than Schallers too at 33.8 Ounces. And heres the kicker- 1:21 Gear ratio- oh H*ll yeah! They get excellent reviews, plus they look badass too. Not cheap- cost me 90 bucks, easily the most I have ever spent on tuning pegs.;

Re: New Tuners Day

what didnt you like about the previous ones?

well, they were tweaked for one, so the seller refunded me a hundred bucks on my Warmoth . Aside form that, I've heard talk that Schaller isnt what it used to be, and Gotoh is top notch. IDK, but the funky 'Davincis' werent for me anyway, but not sure if they are good tuners- they probably are. I still like the regular normal Schallers- but they are heavy, which sometimes I do not want, although they are easier to find used.

Re: New Tuners Day

is 21:1 even necessary? I have perfect tuning with 14:1 Grovers

Is a Mercedes 500SL really necessary? but seriously , Ive read that people with a glitch in one of their strings that is hard to bring to correct pitch have benefited form the 21:1 ratio. My Low E is hard to bring to tune , so these Gotohs cannot hurt.

Awesome! I am interested in shopping around for some super-precise tuners.

Re: New Tuners Day

Has anybody tried the Gotoh Stealth locking tuners? Evidently they're the lightest locking tuners on the market. But they're hard to find state-side, so I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
