New/Used Guitar Day: 2009 Gibson Les Paul Studio Raw

Re: New/Used Guitar Day: 2009 Gibson Les Paul Studio Raw

That my friend was pure coincidence. I'd love to find one in the blue color below...if I ever run across one in good shape I'll snag it.

Thanks! I am a lifelong loyal Miami Dolphins Phan to the core and Aquamarine is my favorite color. I decided a while back that if I ever ran across one of these 2009 Gibson Les Paul Studio Raw Power guitars in Aquamarine that I would buy it. So this weekend I sold one of my other guitars as I simply could not resist when this one came up - Aquamarine with a Maple Fretboard and Gold Hardware. Plus I really like the White Raw Power I already have.

Wow, that is a cool color!

It is a gorgeous color dude, congrats!!! I never really warmed up to the roasted Maple fingerboards but I've got a buddy who absolutely loves them!!! I don't think he's played anything else but Gibby's from this era since they introduced them???

Thanks! I never really found a Gibson LP that I bonded with until I bought a 10+ pound '82 LP Standard about 10 years ago - which was my first real Gibson. I would have hung onto that '82 Standard had I not gone through a divorce almost 4 years ago that pretty much brought me to sell everything I had gear-wise. I've bought and sold a few guitars over the last almost 4 years as well and discovered that I prefer Maple Fretboards over Rosewood, Ebony, etc., which resulted in me recently selling the '88 Jackson and the Ibanez ICT700. I always liked the Early '90s LP Studios and felt they were "good Gibsons". I picked the White Raw Power up on a whim and because it was $500.00 plus shipping with Gibson HSC and it was clean but I really have enjoyed pretty much everything about it. Hopefully the Aquamarine will be just as enjoyable.

Did you flip the "homemade" LP you got earlier?

Kinda interested to see how consistent they are/were(Studio Raws).Looking forward to pics/review!!!

'Grats in advance!

I liked the Luthier Made one but it, like a couple others, wasn't getting played so it was sold. Will def post comparison on the two Studio Raw Powers once I get my hands on the Aqua.

Yeah, yeah...Seller sent UPS with no signature required and I wasn't about to leave it on my doorstep for any period of time as there is a rash of scum stealing packages throughput Metro Denver-news channels are showing videos of thefts every night. I had to change it to a pickup at a UPS facility which is about 3 miles and two toll roads from my work location. Picking it up after work but won't get to "get acquainted" until late tonight or tomorrow as my employer's "Holiday Party" is this evening.

Sucks but at least it should be safe.
