Nostalgic Distortion

Yesterday I had a bit of an epiphany. Apparently my very lovely wife actually listens to at least some my incoherent guitar ramblings!!! Many of you who know me also know that I recently had a new baby, or that I had one on the way anyway? He has since been born & although we haven't been able to bring him home quite yet he's healthy, strong, & beautiful!!!
The reason he hasn't been able to come home yet is because after a routine Non Stress Test last week it was determined that she had developed preeclampsia & would have to deliver at 33 weeks which was absolutely terrifying BTW. Ahhhhh!!!!

LOL, I think I remember telling one of the N.I.C.U. nurses that I couldn't have a baby right now because I wasn't ready & I still had stuff I needed to do? A statement that was responded to with a resounding "TOUGH $#IT" by the hospital staff!!! The induction drugs didn't work the way they wanted so eventually he was delivered via cesarean section.
Because he was so little they couldn't safely deliver him at our local hospital so they brought him to a hospital about 3 & 1/2 hours south of where we live, & that's pretty much been our home ever since! Because it's been hard for her to move around very much I've spent a lot of time driving back & forth between the hospital and my home, spending as much time as possible with my little peanut, (STILL NO NAME B.T.W., ANY SUGGESTIONS???) & doing my very best to help take care of her. It's definitely been a lot & quite stressful for everyone evolved!
On Saturday they finally released her & as long as things keep going the way they are, he should be home for next weekend! Anyhow, we didn't want to leave him at the hospital by himself, even for a short time, so I had my father drive her back to the house for a much needed sleep in our bed, bath in our bathtub, & for all the other comforts of home. Meanwhile I spent the night looking like a creeper watching him sleep behind glass & feeding/playing with him whenever possible....
So yesterday when she arrived back at the N.I.C.U. she had a gift for me in tow!!! Apparently it's my Valentine's Day/Thank You/Sorry I dude punched you while I was laboring in pain gift, LOL???
