Newbie Mistake - Spacing

Hi All

I have been playing about two years now and decided to rebuild a squier strat I had lying around. This is my first project of this kind and I decided to go for a H-H config.

I chose a SD JB for the bridge position and won one on eBay for a decent price. Great I thought! Now if I can get a Jazz or '59 for the neck I can start putting together my pickgaurd. Slight problem, I notice my JB is for Standard spacing, not F spacing :(

My question is, will this sound totally turd and should I look to trade it in for one with F spacing?? :(

Best,

Lee

It will work.... you may (like I do) notice a drop in output on the E strings, esp. when playing clean. This is the reason I prefer Trembuckers / F-spacing. But it will be playable and will sound like a JB.

Also, the Squier bridge is narrower than the USA Fender Bridges or a Flody Rose, so it may even line up just fine.

I personally would put it in, see if I like it tonally and how much the output drop bothers me, and then either leave it or get a trembucker version /new pickup.

BTW, if you´re looking for a white ´59 neck PM me, I have one here by chance that I´m selling for a Bro ;)

Thanks for the replies guys... I shall just have to suck it and see!

I have procured a '59 now too (single conductor) for the neck so now I need to plan how I'm gonna wire these bad boys. I have an idea but I'd be open to any suggestions!
